I am Ute Hildenbeutel, an interior designer, ceramicist and painter.

I have worked for 25 years as a make-up artist at an international level — for Vogue, i-D Magazine, The New York Times Magazine, Dazed & Confused and others. Those 25 years of visual training on some of the most demanding sets in the world developed an eye that I cannot switch off.

I am now fully committed to interior design and handcrafted work. Alongside this, I have maintained an active ceramics practice and have been painting for the past several years. These are two disciplines that come from the same impulse.

A room is like a painting — composition, light, material. Clay and paint are simply other materials to shape.

What excites me most is transformation: working with difficult floor plans, limited means, and existing constraints — and making something genuinely livable.
